Frequently Asked Questions

Answers reflect EZPal as it works today. If something here ever stops matching what you see in the app, tell us, we'd rather fix the page than leave it wrong.

EZPal is brand new, so this page isn't built from a backlog of old tickets, it's a straight answer to the questions we expect: what's free, what requires a subscription, how Training Pal pairing works, and what to do if something isn't behaving. Can't find yours? Jump to Still need help at the bottom.

Fastest way to reach us: support@ez-pal.com. We typically reply within one business day. Already using the app? Settings → Contact Support goes to the same inbox.

Account & Sign-In

EZPal is frozen, stuck loading, or won't open.

A few quick things usually fix it: force-quit EZPal (swipe it away in your app switcher) and reopen it, check the App Store for a pending update, and make sure you're on a working connection, most screens need one to load your plan or save a log. Still stuck after that? Restart your iPhone next, and if it's still not budging, email support@ez-pal.com with your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings app → General → About) and we'll dig in directly.

What do I need to run EZPal?

An iPhone on iOS 17 or later, that's it. EZPal is iPhone-only today, no iPad or Android version yet.

I forgot my password.

Tap “Forgot Password” on the sign-in screen and enter your email. We'll send you a reset link, open it on the iPhone EZPal is installed on and it drops you straight into the app to set a new password. If it opens in a browser instead, make sure EZPal is installed on that device and tap the link again.

Do I have to verify my email before I can use the app?

No. We'll email you a 6-digit code right after you sign up, but “Skip for now” is always right there, and nothing in the app is locked while you're unverified. Enter the code whenever it arrives, or request a new one from that same screen, no rush.

Can I sign in with Apple or Google instead of a password?

Yes, both are right on the sign-in screen. Apple's private relay email addresses work fine too. Sign in this way and your email is verified automatically, Apple and Google have already done that part for you.

I turned on two-factor authentication and lost access to it.

As long as you can still get into your account's email inbox, you're fine, EZPal's 2FA sends its one-time code there, so sign-in works as usual. When you first set it up, EZPal also showed you a set of recovery codes (worth saving somewhere safe, they're shown only once). Lost both the inbox and the codes? Email support@ez-pal.com and we'll get you back in.

Which countries can I use EZPal in?

The United States and Canada. We don't currently offer, market, or support EZPal outside those two countries.

Subscription & Billing

How much does EZPal cost?

EZPal is free to download, free to sign up for, and free to build and log your workouts on, there's no subscription required just to train. Premium is $4.99/month, billed through your Apple ID, and unlocks things like sending a Training Pal invite, suggested weights from your training history, your full history beyond the rolling 12-week window, and data export (the table below has the exact breakdown). There's no annual plan. From time to time we may offer a limited-time free trial of the full feature set at no charge and with no card required, when we do, you'll see it in the app before you start it.

Here's exactly what's free and what needs Premium:

Is there a discount for pairing with a Training Pal, or a couples/duo price?

No. Every EZPal subscription is the same $4.99/month, there's no reduced “Duo” or paired price today.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Through your Apple ID, not through us, that's where all EZPal billing lives. In the app: Settings → Subscription → Manage, or straight from your iPhone: Settings app → [your name] → Subscriptions → EZPal, then cancel. Either way, you'll keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles every refund, since Apple's the one who processed the payment, we're not able to issue one ourselves. Request one directly at reportaproblem.apple.com or from your iPhone: Settings app → [your name] → Subscriptions → EZPal → Report a Problem.

I subscribed (or switched phones) and Premium still isn't showing.

Open Settings → Subscription in the app and tap “Restore Purchases” (the same button lives on the upgrade screen too). Just make sure you're signed in to the Apple ID you subscribed with.

Training Pal

What is a Training Pal, and how do I pair with one?

One other EZPal account you train alongside, a friend, partner, sibling, or gym buddy. Head to Settings → Invite a Training Pal and enter their email. They'll see exactly what's about to be shared before they accept anything, and pairing only happens once they do. Sending an invite needs an active Premium subscription; accepting one is always free.

What does my Training Pal actually see about me?

Your display name, profile photo (if you added one), your active workout plan, your logged sessions (workout, effort, and date), your weekly frequency, and your streak. What's never shared: your gender, height, weight, age range, exact birthdate, or the specific weight/reps on each set. And to be clear, you each keep your own separate plan the whole time, pairing just lets you see each other's, it never merges you onto the same plan or the same rotation.

How do I stop sharing with my Training Pal?

Either of you can end the pairing anytime from Settings, no permission needed from the other person. Sharing stops right away and they're notified. You're free to pair again later, with the same person or someone new.

I can't see my Training Pal's plan or progress anymore.

That shared view needs an active Premium subscription on both sides. If either of you lapses, viewing pauses for both people, even the one who's still subscribed, until you're both active again. The pairing itself is fine, it's just the shared view that pauses.

Invites

What's the difference between “Invite a Pal” and pairing with a Training Pal?

Two different things. Invite a Pal (Settings → Invites) is a free way to tell friends about EZPal from your own Messages or Mail app, nothing gets connected, it's just a heads-up. Training Pal pairing (above) is the real, one-at-a-time connection with someone whose actual workouts you want to see.

Do I get a discount or reward for inviting friends?

No. Sending Invites is free and unlimited on every account, so invite as many friends as you like, but it doesn't change what you pay. EZPal Premium is $4.99 a month for everyone.

Workout Plans & Logging

How does EZPal build my workout plan?

A rules-based system always has the final say on anything safety-related, muscle groups and equipment. AI can help put the plan together, but its output is always checked against those same rules before it ever reaches you. None of this is medical advice, check with a doctor before starting a new program. Full detail in our Terms of Service.

Can I regenerate my plan, or build my own from scratch?

Yes, three ways: start from a default plan, build your own manually, or generate one with AI, whenever you like, from onboarding or Settings. You get 3 AI-generated plans free for the life of your account (your first onboarding plan counts as one of them); after that, generating or regenerating with AI needs Premium. Picking a default plan or building your own manually stays free and unlimited, always.

I don't like an exercise in my plan. Can I swap it?

Yes, anytime, and it's free on every account. Search the exercise library and swap in whatever works better for you. Premium adds curated “Suggested for you” alternates in the same muscle group, so you don't even have to search.

How do I log a workout?

Open today's plan, mark your effort level, and answer the short “how'd it feel” prompt. That's the whole thing, no per-set entry required unless you actually want it.

Can I track the exact weight and reps I did on each set?

Yes, and recording exactly what you lifted on every set is free for everyone. Free accounts log full sessions, set a sets/reps target per exercise, and record per-set weight and reps. Premium adds a suggested weight and rep for your next set (from your own history) and your full progress history beyond the rolling 12-week window.

Apple Health

Does EZPal work with Apple Health?

Yes, and it's free for every single account, not locked behind Premium. Turn on Settings → Sync to Apple Health and your logged workouts write there automatically.

Does EZPal read anything from my Apple Health data?

No, never. The connection only goes one way, out to Health. EZPal never asks for permission to read your Health data, only to write your own logged workouts to it. Turn it off anytime, in EZPal's Settings or in the Health app itself.

Your Data & Privacy

How do I export my data?

Settings → Export My Data (a Premium feature). We'll email you a secure download link with your profile, body stats if you provided any, your full workout history, and every set you've logged. The link works for about a week, and you can request a fresh one anytime after that.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your workout history and body stats, revokes any linked Apple/Google sign-in, and ends an active Training Pal pairing (they're notified). It doesn't cancel an active App Store subscription automatically though, that's still yours to manage separately through your Apple ID.

Is my data sold to advertisers?

No. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for cross-app or cross-site advertising either.

Where can I read the full details?

Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service go through every category of data we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.
